Difference = your reference garment minus the listed measurement. A positive value means your reference garment is larger in that dimension.
Supplier measurements may vary by up to 2 in (about 5 cm). Consider the recipient's preferred amount of room as well as the numbers. This tool shows differences; it does not guarantee a fit.
How to measure your reference sweatshirt
- Lay it flat on a level surface and smooth it without stretching.
- Measure across the chest just below the sleeves.
- Measure from the high shoulder area beside the collar to the lower hem.
- Use a sweatshirt with the amount of room the recipient already enjoys.
These are garment dimensions. Flat width is not a body chest circumference. A garment that has been worn and washed may differ from its original measurements.
Before ordering
What if my measurements fall between sizes?
Compare both width and length. Each size step in this table adds 2 in of flat width and 1 in of length. Decide whether that extra room suits the recipient; a size letter from another brand alone does not settle the choice.
